A meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly will be held on May 18 in Belarus, BelTAa news agency reports with reference to Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Security of the House of Representatives of Belarus Oleg Belokonev.
He emphasized that the event will increase the level of inter-parliamentary cooperation, coordinate the position in the international arena, discuss issues that may arise by that time, as well as legal aspects of collective security of the CSTO member states.
"We constantly meet, discuss various issues, established commissions of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. There is a military vector, which goes through the joint headquarters of the organization, and there is an inter-parliamentary vector, which goes through the Parliamentary Assembly of this organization. And, of course, key aspects are intertwined - military, international and political. That is why information security is one of the key issues right now," Belokonev noted.
