The former rector of Tbilisi State University, George Sharvashidze, has been appointed Ambassador of Georgia to Armenia.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Sharvashidze.

As the Georgian PM's press service reports, the head of the Georgian government congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a new position and wished him success in his future work.

It was noted that Georgia and Armenia are linked with close friendly and neighborly relations, and hope was expressed that there will be active cooperation in various domains in the future.
