The matter of forming a unified digital platform in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is important for Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated about this Friday at the international conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan, entitled "Digital Almaty 2023: Digital Partnership in a New Reality."

"For us, the issue of forming a unified digital platform in the area of Eurasian integration remains important. In this context, I would like to mention the modernity and high demand of the tools of the interstate information exchange system, the creation and development of digital projects with an integration effect," he said.

Pashinyan added that digital economy is developing in Armenia.

"The turnover in the IT sector of the Republic of Armenia [(RA)] in 2022 increased by more than 50 percent, and the share of the information technology and communication sector in Armenia's GDP is consistently growing. We, on our part, provide sectoral state assistance to the IT business. Last year, more than 1,000 startups received significant tax benefits," he noted.

According to the head of the Armenian government, "during the formation of a unified digital space, it is necessary not to forget about the creation of a complex information data protection system."
