Defense Minister of Turkey Hulusi Akar said that the meeting of representatives of delegations of Turkey, Syria and Russia within the framework of trilateral talks will be held in February, Kommersant reported.

However, he did not name the exact date and place of the talks.

In February, technical delegations of the defense and intelligence ministries will meet in continuation of the trilateral meeting in the format Syria - Russia - Turkey. The dialogue will continue, Akar told Turkish newspaper Sozcu.

Talks between the defense ministries of Turkey, Syria and Russia were held in Moscow on December 27. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the heads of departments discussed the situation in Syria, as well as the fight against extremists in this country. Syria positively assessed the results of the meeting.

On January 29, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan admitted that Iran could join the talks at the next meeting of delegations. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov supported the proposal to include Iran in the talks.
