The collective West intends to maximize support for Ukraine's counterattack and provide Kiev with long-term assistance. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, speaking on Monday at a joint press conference in Washington with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, TASS reported.

"We will continue to do two things, and we are determined to do them. We will continue to maximize our support for Ukraine now so that it can succeed on the battlefield. In addition, our long-term support, the support of Ukraine, is critical so that over time it can develop a strong deterrent and defense capability for its armed forces so that in the future, if Russia decides to launch another aggression, it [Ukraine] has a chance to deter it and also, if necessary, to successfully repel it. While supporting its own economy, integration into the European Union <...> as well as the ongoing process of democratic reforms," said the U.S. foreign policy chief.
