Russia is worried by the information that the US is trying to impose mediation services on Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian foreign ministry told RIA Novosti.

"We are worried about the information appearing in the media that the US is attempting to impose its mediation services on Baku and Stepanakert, including through threats of using force," the Russian foreign ministry noted.

Earlier, a diplomatic source in Washington D.C. told RIA Novosti that the US forces—as an ultimatum—the representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh to meet with the representatives of Azerbaijan in a third country; and in case of refusal, it threatens with Azerbaijani antiterrorist action. According to the interlocutor of the agency, the foreign minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, Sergey Ghazaryan, whose interests completely coincide with those of Azerbaijan, is lobbying for this American "peacekeeping initiative."
