Azerbaijan, with some ambiguous corridor comments, continues to accuse Armenia of not fulfilling its duties and obligations to ensure transport links through its territory. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

"Here, too, I have to repeat that Armenia has never undertaken any written or verbal corridor commitment and will never accept any such interpretation," Pashinyan added.

"Regarding regional communications, unblocking under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of countries, Armenia has repeatedly announced and continues to announce that it is ready for this," the Armenian PM noted.

"A long time ago, a draft decision of the Armenian government was put into official circulation, which envisages the establishment of three checkpoints on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border by Armenia. That decision is not being accepted because of the destructive approach of Azerbaijan, which has not even launched a similar process and does not want to provide a road for Armenia," Pashinyan stated.

"The logic is that the same decision should be made by Azerbaijan, so that both Armenia and Azerbaijan have these checkpoints, and transport infrastructures are unblocked," said Pashinyan.

According to him, Azerbaijan's approach is like this because it has not abandoned its 30-year policy of subjecting Armenia to a blockade.

"Azerbaijan continues to accuse Armenia of [land]mine-laying issues as well. First, the International Court of Justice rejected, by the decision of February 22 of this year, the accusations [of Azerbaijan] directed at Armenia in the matter of [land]mine-laying. And then, in order to show its sincerity and determination regarding the matter of normalizing relations, the Armenian side in previous years transferred to Azerbaijan maps of minefields of all the territories under the latter's control, which are used today in Azerbaijan to carry out large-scale demining work. But Azerbaijan did not take any equivalent step in response to this; to this day it continues to illegally keep Armenian prisoners of war and use them as a political bargaining factor," the Armenian PM emphasized.
