At least 2012 people were killed and 2059 injured in a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco late Friday, NBC News reports.
King Mohammed VI of Morocco mobilized army search and rescue teams to locate and rescue any survivors using helicopters and drones.

The US Geological Survey said the epicenter was in Morocco's High Atlas mountain range, about 46 miles southeast of Marrakesh.
The earthquake occurred at 23:11 local time, followed by a 4.9 magnitude aftershock 19 minutes later.
