During the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 22, Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with Marija Pejcinovic Buric, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press service.

The primary topic of discussion was the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. Mirzoyan emphasized that Azerbaijan's recent aggression against the Nagorno-Karabakh population, following a 10-month blockade, blatantly demonstrates Baku's contempt for human rights, international and humanitarian law, its own international obligations, including those assumed within Council of Europe, as well as for many targeted messages from the international community. The minister stressed the urgent need for clear steps to guarantee the security and rights of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.

In this context, the effective use of relevant instruments by international partners, including within the Council of Europe, was emphasized.
