Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The meeting was held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, within the framework of the 30th Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

Matters related to security and stability in the South Caucasus were discussed. They touched upon the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Mirzoyan emphasized that despite the non-constructive attitude shown by Azerbaijan, its ethnic cleansing carried out in Nagorno-Karabakh and the existing humanitarian problems, Armenia has forwarded to Azerbaijan the proposals regarding the draft peace treaty in accordance with the known principles, and in case of Azerbaijan's clear commitment to these principles, significant progress can be made towards the agreement on this draft.

The interlocutors reflected also on Armenia’s regional programs, in the context of which FM Mirzoyan made a reference to the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Armenian government, and stressed the advantages expected for the stability of the region as a result of its implementation.

During the meeting, the Mirzoyan and Blinken discussed the Armenian-American bilateral agenda as well. Views were exchanged on existing cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms and prospects for its expansion.
