The participation of Armenian films in prestigious international competitions and festivals has increased by 74 percent in 2022. Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Daniel Danielyan, announced this at Monday’s year-end press conference.

In his words, ten Armenian films have brought 28 international awards to Armenia.

The deputy minister recalled that changes have been made in Armenian cinema.

And the most important thing, according to him, is that the amendments to the Law on Cinematography which make the latter readable and understandable for foreign colleagues.

"Armenia is becoming a reliable country in the film production sector," emphasized Danielyan.

According to him, the Ministry off Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia has signed memorandums of cooperation with various international organizations, and, as a result, a jointly produced Armenian film may appear on Netflix.

Daniel Danielyan added that the provinces of Armenia are also in the center of their attention and any program includes events that must be held in the country’s provinces, too.
