The US Supreme Court on Monday reinstated Donald Trump to the preliminary ballot for the 2024 presidential election, rejecting attempts by several states to hold the former president accountable for the events of 6 January 2021. AP reports this.

The court ruled that states, without waiting for action by the US Congress, do not have the right to use a constitutional provision adopted after the Civil War to exclude presidential candidates from the electoral rolls, Voice of America reports.
