The authorities of Armenia are leading the country in the Ukrainian scenario; they are trying to place the country in the sinking "Titanic" called the European Union. Ambassador Dzyunik Aghajanyan stated this in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

She believes that under the current Armenian authorities, the Russian negotiation platform will not be desirable for Armenia because they came with the obligation to withdraw Russia from the region.

"The authorities of Armenia have carried out consistent activities in this direction since the very first day, and this clearly started showing especially after the 2020 war. They understand that the majority of the [Armenian] population does not support their approach, as this is an artificial agenda. The [incumbent Armenian] authorities are simply fulfilling the conditions dictated by the West.

The West is putting pressure on the Armenian authorities to intensify anti-Russian sentiments and provoke Russia to take retaliatory steps to further strengthen anti-Russian sentiments [in Armenia]. All this is aimed at creating grounds for forming actions on the legal level," Ambassador Aghajanyan emphasized.

However, according to her, Armenia withdrawing from the CSTO and EAEU will mean severing relations with Russia, and this, in turn, will mean putting Armenia under the attack of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

"According to the Western plan, after the withdrawal of the Russian [military] base from Armenia, the European monitors should have turned into peacekeepers; but this is not happening due to the lack of sufficient level of anti-Russian sentiments due to public resistance in Armenia. The [Armenian] society cannot come to terms with the idea that its eternal enemies, Turkey and Azerbaijan, which constantly threaten Armenia, can suddenly become guarantors of security. Therefore, the [Armenian] authorities are not able to ensure the adequate speed of fulfilling their obligations. This, in turn, does not coincide with the wishes of the West.

The only question is why the [Armenian] authorities doubted the existence of Armenia because of the commitments it took on to the West and Turkey," added Ambassador Dzyunik Aghajanyan.
