For a long time, the Armenian side has voiced its desire to get closer to the European Union (EU) as much as possible. Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, told this to reporters at the National Assembly Tuesday, noting that Armenia's partnership with the EU has never been at such a high level.

Hovhannisyan said that all possible options are being discussed and all solutions in Armenia's interests will be accepted.

"We are currently discussing all the options that will contribute to the strengthening of Armenia's sovereignty, development, diversification of the economy, and a number of other issues. We consider all issues only from that point of view. We only combine our partnership with the EU with our national interests," said the Armenian deputy FM.

To the remark that the deputy minister of defense of the United Kingdom (UK)  stated that the latter is ready to support Armenia in case of threats from Russia and when asked what those threats are, Hovhannisyan said that this question should be addressed to the UK colleagues.

He just said that a format of Armenia’s strategic cooperation with the UK was approved last year.

The Armenian deputy FM did not respond to the reporter’s repeated question about what threats the UK is talking about, and left.
