STEPANAKERT. – In total, 11,362 foreign tourists visited Nagorno-Karabakh last year, which is by 3,000 more, as compared to 2010, Karabakh consulate data reports.

The geography of the tourists is quite wide and it enlarges, Karabakh MFA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. Citizens of Russia, the U.S., France, Iran, Canada, Germany, Ukraine, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Kenya, Cuba and China visited Karabakh last year.

The ever growing interest of tourists for Karabakh testifies to the fact that the state is more frequently included in the ratings of the world’s most attractive sightseeing. In Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] tourists visit monastery complexes Gandzasar, Amaras, Dadivank, the excavation area of the ancient city of Tigranakert, the Azokh ancient cave and many Armenian ancient castles. The tourists are attracted not only by the historical monuments, but also by hospitality, friendliness and kindness of the Artsakh people.
