The Armenian commission, which deals with the issues of persons with disabilities, held its regular session in Vanadzor city. During the event, the participants discussed Save the Children international organizations’ “Improving the Living Standards of Persons with Disabilities through Promotion of Employment” project.    

This project aims to create equal work conditions and availability of jobs for the disabled. It envisions the provision of jobs to 390 individuals with disabilities, education to 600 such persons, and work training for 400 disabled.      

The project will be implemented in Armenia’s Ararat, Gegharkunik, Lori, and Shirak regions, and in the capital Yerevan.

The beneficiaries of this project will be those disabled between the ages of 18 and 64.

A total of 99 disabled persons, who are seeking jobs, are registered at the Lori Regional Employment Center.
