YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The year began with the stormy events taking place in the world. Although they are outside Armenia, they are often directly related to our country. And this first of all refers to the processes taking place in Kazakhstan. The assessments being made of the latter, the CSTO engagement [to it], and [PM] Nikol Pashinyan's decisions are not unambiguous.

Speaking about Past, Vahe Hakobyan, MP of the [opposition] "Armenia" Faction of the RA NA [(National Assembly)], Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, expressed an opinion that [in terms of the events unrolling in Kazakhstan] the CSTO manifested itself as a structure capable of a quick response.

As for the incumbent authorities of Armenia, in Hakobyan’s words, they once again showed their being unprincipled and worthless.

"I had the opportunity to say; let me repeat: He who came to power through the street, the same man who incited [the] March 1 [2008 tragedy in Yerevan] and was boasting about the people who had taken away the truncheon and the shield from the police, now sends soldiers to Kazakhstan to return to the Kazakh policeman the shield and truncheon taken away from him.

And the most horrible [thing] is that he does it yet again without giving any explanation to the people, without substantiating and commenting on his actions in any way. Pashinyan did not even convene an NA special session on the matter of sending [Armenian] troops to another country, whereas Armenia, let me remind, is a parliamentary country," Vahe Hakobyan noted.
