Mineralnie Vodi Airport Administration denied the information that in June 2008 they held a maintenance check-up of the crashed TU-154. “I cannot specify whether we did the check-up or not. We know nothing on the matter yet, but once we have some data, or I am provided with details, you can question me,” Head of Mineralnie Vodi Airport Staff Yuri Samsonov said.
Meanwhile, the Shipping Prosecutor’s Office admitted that the aircraft was under repair in Mineralnie Vodi Commercial Aviation Factory in year 2005, but not a month ago. The Prosecutors declared that warranty service has expired long ago.
Yesterday a plane of Caspian Airlines heading from Tehran to Yerevan, flight 7908 with 168 people on board crashed at 11:33 am local time on Iranian territory. The passengers and the crew of 15 were reported dead. As per the preliminary data, of 37 Armenian passengers – 5 were citizens of Armenia, at that 2 — aircraft mechanics.
