The U.S. President Barack Obama welcomed bold steps by Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Armenian-Turkish relations’ normalization and urged go ahead. At the Washington briefing following the meeting, Erdogan said that Armenian-Azerbaijani issues settlement is crucial in the context of Armenian-Turkish relations, White House Press Service informs.

“We discussed OSCE Minsk Group activities, as well as U.S., France and Russia’s possible assistance in giving momentum to the talks. It will impact positively on the process overall, as Armenia-Turkey reconciliation are closely interrelated,” Turkish PM stated.

Afghanistan and Iran nuke program were also on the meeting agenda of the leaders. Obama emphasized the essential role of Turkey in issues connected with Iran.

Erdogan outlined that Ankara is ready to assist the diplomatic settlement of Iran nuke issue in every possible way.
