The author of the article entitled “Armenia Surprised by Anti-Russian Agitation” made misstatements, which suggested that it was the VivaCell Company that sent the anti-Russian messages. “In his own blog, Vardan Papikyan, who gave that interview, has pointed out inaccuracies in the article. The cause of misunderstanding was his being a VivaCell customer, who was one of the recipients of the anti-Russian messages. The author of the article, however, claimed the company itself was sending the messages,” Isahakyan said.
The messages contained an appeal for joining an anti-Russian website. “It may be spam. SMS can be sent from various websites now,” Isahakyan said.
It is noteworthy that the article was put on the website of the Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR).
