December 15, 2009 at 4:00 a.m. local time a major fire in a residential building killed 6 people, including 2 children in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The fire broke out in a five-storied building and rapidly spread over two fourth-floor apartments and then to the attic, Vesti reports.
According to Russian Mayak radio, seven more people were hospitalized and diagnosed with carbon monoxide.
More than 19 fire teams were working in the accident site. Presently, the fire is contained and rated as being of the 2nd degree of gravity.
