“We would welcome the recognition of Abkhazia independence by CSTO members states, but the countries are sovereign and define advisability of any political move themselves,” CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha stated in the course of Yerevan-Moscow spacebridge under “CSTO: Activities’ results in H2 2009 and prospects for 2010” head.

According to him, the country signs a security treaty when joining CSTO and not agreement on identity of political views on developments. “Thus, each country determines stance on any issue guided by a political expediency. For instance, I can say why Central Asian countries do not recognize Abkhazia but will not open the brackets,” stated Bordyuzha.

Today 14-thousand populated Nauru Republic recognized the independence of Abkhazia.
