Russia-U.S. talks on new START treaty in last two days backpedal through the fault of U.S, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the Dec 17 press conference.
“They refer to the necessity of receiving additional instructions, but a number of fundamental issues are already agreed on. What matters is not to disclose what is already accorded,” Vesti quotes Lavrov.
He underlined that it is essential to dispose of unnecessary suspiciousness, especially in case when the two presidents declared their intension to see new features in Moscow-Washington relations.
Meanwhile, Lavrov noted that the singing of a new treaty on strategic nuclear weapons cuts at Copenhagen summit is conditioned also by technical factor.
