Human Rights High Commissioner of Council of Europe Thomas Hamerberg arrived in Georgia newly, GHN reports.

“I will not stop. I came to give final solution to the problem on teenagers’ release, as I find unacceptable that innocent people suffer punishment due to the tensed political situation,” said Hamerberg.

However, he failed to reach relevant agreement with Georgian authorities so far, Vzglyad newspaper reports, referring to local Imedi TV company.

The day before, in the course of his meeting with Hamerberg, South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity stated that he did not intend to release Georgian teenagers detained with explosive and weapons in early November.

Kokoity underlined that South Ossetia “does not see any sense in holding dialogue with Georgian criminal regime,” but added that sensitive issues for both nations should be resolved “more humanely and civilized.”

Today, Thomas Hamerberg plans to visit Tskhinval again and tackle the teenagers’ release issue.
