Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is ready to participate in peacemaking campaign in Karabakh conflict zone, the expert associated to CSTO informed REGNUM agency.

According to him, the campaign under the CSTO aegis is the only possible option, as the engagement of armed forces in conflict zone will evoke negative response and concerns in Iran.

“Karabakh conflict is a complicated process, connected with interests of a number of states. Besides, it is an ethnic conflict with constituents of religious interests’ collision. CSTO – is a multinational structure, uniting both Christian and Muslim states, which is not the least of the factors. CSTO is the only military-political bloc, that is capable of maintaining peace and stability in Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone. The mission might turn to be perfect if Azerbaijan, recently intesifying relations with Russia, announces enrolling CSTO”, the source reports.
