Before the summit talks of Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents, Reuters analyst Connor Sweeney stated that Ilham Aliyev threw cold water over those expecting a breakthrough in negotiations on Nagorno Karabakh peace process. He said that even though they have “more constructive approach” in current talks, Baku, like before, considers that the independence of the region is out of question. Karabakh representatives declared that “they need mere independence”, the analyst noted.

Sweeney also quotes the experts, that are pessimistic about the conflict resolution in the near future.
