Georgian parliamentary opposition demanded to issue an international arrest warrant against Abkhazian and South Ossetian leaders as war criminals after the information on possible visit of Sergei Bagapsh to Turkey was disclosed, Russian Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes.

According to Georgian Parliament Deputy Chairman Paata Davitaia, only the mentioned measure can avert expansion of separatists’ international ties.

Davitaia considers that Bagapsh’s trip abroad is unacceptable “when ethnic cleansing of Georgians in Abkhazia continues.”

Russian Kommersant daily reports that Turkish Ambassador to Georgia was invited to Foreign Ministry to “clarify Turkey’s stance” on Abkhazian President’s possible visit to Ankara.

The scandal might dramatically deteriorate Georgian-Turkish relations, however it can hardly influence the prospects of Abkhazia’s recognition internationally, the daily says.
