December 23, 2009 light polling was registered in Azerbaijani municipal elections. According to Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) report, voting turnout as of 5:00 p.m. local time, two hours before the polling stations’ closure made 28.51%. These are an-all time poor results in Authoritarian Republic of Azerbaijan within last years.
The heaviest polling (over 40% of the vote) was registered in the patrimony of Aliyev clan-Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Despite the officially published data, Baku central TV channels presently report of heavy polling. Central Election Commission (CEC) also received several dozens of appeals from oppositional representatives, however refused to consider them as unfounded.
