Today, July 18, Catholicos of All-Armenians Karekin II held a service in Mother See Holy Etchmiadzin to commemorate the July 15 crash victims.

The mass for dead was attended by RA Prime-Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Speaker of RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan, RA Vice-PM and Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan. Iranian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Seyed Ali Saqqaiyan also attended the service.

On July 15, a plane of Caspian Airlines flight 7908 heading Tehran-Yerevan with 168 people aboard crashed at 11:33 am local time on Iranian territory. The passengers and the crew of 15 were reported dead. Out of 37 Armenian passengers, 5 were citizens of Armenia, at that 2 — aircraft mechanics.
