Kiro Manoyan, one of the politically grounded members of Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) recently confessed that his Party had stayed quiet when NK was squeezed-out of Karabakh conflict negotiation process at Ki-West stage. According to Manoyan, they did so because the negotiations were leading to NKR unification with Armenia, i.e. honorable friends from ARF Bureau for some reason had decided that NKR unification issue with Armenia is impossible to discuss with the participation of Artsakh representatives,.

However opinions differ with regard to this. One of the versions is that ARF wanted to maintain the negotiation format – Yerevan Baku (excluding Stepanakert). The reason was simple, negotiations ran Robert Kocharyan who administered for the second term thanked to ARF’s becoming a coalition with the government.

Kocharyans withdrawal did not affect Dashnak’s positions immediately. After Sargsyan’s becoming the RA President, ARF continued to stay in the coalition quietly following the negotiation process with Baku in the format designed by Kocharyan. However ARF’s calculations failed and the new internal political order did not promise them any special “dividends”. To regain their former status, ARF began accusing the new authorities of all gaps and shortcomings of previous authorities.

ARF claimed FA Minister Edward Nalbandyan’s resignation and this was ARF’s first and a quite daring step. By this step ARF delivered the following message: “External policy is the President’s prerogative however we will point out the Minister and let Sargsyan make a conclusion”.

The “chess game” against Serj Sargsyan is initiated by “ARF-Kocharyan-Oskanyan” block from Stepanakert, “the creddle” of the Armenian internal policy, in the former President’s view.

What about Karaback, he’d better not benefit from the complicated internal political situation.

And what about ARF, they already reap he fruits of their miraculous transformation. The vivid example of it was the recent Yerevan Mayer elections where deprived of the authority’s support they achieved their “deserved” result.
