U.S. signifies Turkey’s role in the Middle East as well as its mediatory efforts, Philip Crowley, spokesman for the State Department said at the daily press briefing. “Turkey has played an important role as an intermediary in working through issues related to Middle East peace,” Crowley underlined.


Commenting on recent tension between Turkey and Israel and both states’ Ambassadors recalling, Crowley stated, “Well, these are two important allies and friends of the United States. We value that interaction and value Turkey’s role in trying to help countries work through these issues. And I would expect that to continue.”
