January 24, 2010, an Armenian-Cypriot delegation headed by Archbishop Varoujan Hergelian visited Armenian complex in Turkish-occupied Nicosia to view the initial progress of the restoration of the medieval Sourp Asdvadzadzin church. In addition, they went to Prelature, the Melikian-Ouzounian and kindergarten buildings of the community's school and Armenian Genocide monument, Gibrahayer e-magazine reports.

“The planning phase of the restoration project was completed last December. Recently, the contract was awarded to EMEK Ltd. contractors and the works are currently under way,” the source informs.
