January 28, 2010 RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu on sidelines of International Conference on Afghanistan in London. The officials discussed Armenia-Turkey normalization, particularly RA CC decision on the Protocols’ conformity to RA Constitution, RA Foreign Office Press Secretary Tigran Balayan informed NEWS.am terming it “a short conversation”.

Nalbandian-Davutoglu meeting lasted for 15 minutes, CNNturk reports. Turkish FM restated that RA CC judgment creates new problems or the process. Nalbandian told his Turkish counterpart that no changes were made in the Protocols and the process itself.

The ministers agreed to meet in Munich Conference on Security Policy, February 5-7. After the talks, having the parties’ stances unchanged, the meeting was named beneficial.

Turkish FM also met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov. In the course of the meeting Davutoglu presented Azerbaijani FM the impediments induced by the RA CC decision. Mammadyarov told the details of Sargsyan-Medvedev-Aliyev trilateral meeting in Sochi, as well as presented recent developments in Karabakh peace process, Turkish Hurriyet daily informs.

As NEWS.am reported previously, January 27 Davutoglu met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and expressed again his concern over the RA CC judgment. According to the Turkish diplomatic sources, Turkish Foreign Office is drafting a legal document to indicate that the RA CC decision conficts with the Protocols. The Turkish side was greatly indignant over the fact that U.S. hailed the decision as a positive step.

January 27, Edward Nalbandian also met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and UK Minister of State for Europe Christopher Bryant in London.
