US-Russian relations should not develop at the expense of Ukraine. US Vice President Joe Biden stated at the joint press conference with Viktor Yushchenko in Kiev, Ukrainian mass media informs. “US-Russian new relations should not develop at the expense of Ukraine. It should be vice versa – I am confident these relations will be of Ukraine’s benefit,” Biden said.
Viktor Yushchenko in his turn hopes that for US-Russia relations will improve predictably and effectively. He pointed out that US-Ukraine strategic relations are sequentially consolidating within last years. The President hopes Ukraine is to launch annual program on cooperation with NATO in several days and considers joining NATO is the main priority for national security. In response to this, Biden stated that if Ukrainian people express a wish to join NATO, US will support them.
