By 2010 end 75% of Georgian public schools will have Internet connection, country’s Education Minister Dmitry Shashkin said after the meeting with Microsoft representatives, NEWS.am-Innovation correspondent reports. Schools will be internetized under the presidential program. According to the Minister, each school will have website created by schoolchildren themselves. Internet access will enable pupils and teachers to communicate and gain experience.

According to Shashkin, presently 2 171 schools have computers, however computer skills are not in focus. Thus, Georgian President’s initiative will be undertaken stage-by-stage. “Internetization of Georgian schools will be completed by 2011,” the Minister concluded.
