Obama’s speech to U.S. Congress attracted 48 million people

U.S. President Barack Obama trailed to his predecessor George Bush only in one facet. In 2003, in the beginning of the war with Iraq former U.S. President George Bush jr. (43^rd President) delivering a speech to the U.S. Congress had 62 million viewers, whereas this year’s Obama speech attracted attention of only 48 million Americans. Strikingly, last speech by the incumbent president (in February, 2009) was heard by a larger audience, though it was not considered a speech. Back then he had 52 million viewers.

Thus, Barack Obama in this regard relinquishes George Bush jr.; it is popularly believed that Iraqi war sparked such burning interest.
