Google decided not to continue support for Internet Explorer 6. The corporation declared that it would phase out Google Docs and Google Sites support of old browsers starting March. Google suggests using new versions of alternative browsers, in particular Firefox 3+ or Safari3+, as well as Google Chrome4+, lenta.ru reports.

It is not the first company to quit old browsers, for instance Digg social news website that gave up Internet Explorer6 in 2009. Last June it became known that YouTube intends to drop IE6 support as well.

The company announced about its decision after Google was cracked by unknown hackers.
