February 2, 2010 at 4:20 a.m. local time a blast occurred on a railway track in southern St. Petersburg.
The explosion went off between Bronevaya and Ligovo stations wounding the train driver. The blast ripped out the roadway of the tracks, ITAR-TASS reports. According to preliminary data, the blast yield was equivalent to 200 to 400 grams of TNT,
Emergency response team, including prosecutors, Federal Security Service experts and Emergency Situations Ministry representatives are working in the accident site.
Train services along the railway have been temporarily suspended.
