British Sky TV channel made history being the first TV company to broadcast live Arsenal vs Manchester United match in 3D format. Fans watched the match wearing 3D glasses in nine specially equipped pubs. According to newsru.com, the broadcasting of football match is prior to the first 3D sport TV channel to be launched by Sky in April 2010.

The company worked for two years to create television technology enabling to watch programs in 3D format. According to BBC, Sky also consulted on 3D TV with James Cameron the director of “Avatar” — No.1 at the weekend box office.
