In case Russia-NATO relations' settlement, Georgia-Russia relations might improve as well, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

“We have to clearly understand logics of NATO Secretary General. He said that alliance seeks to improve relations with Russia and it might affect Georgia-Russia relations, which is an accurate thesis,” Vashadze stated, commenting on Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s remark.

According to the Minister, both NATO and Russia realize that after the August 2008 war, Russia-Georgia relations are seriously deteriorated.

“The relations will improve if incumbent Russian authorities will adopt civilized behaviour and realize that there is no alternative to international law in 21st century,” Georgian FM added.
