Armenian and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) journalists visited NKR Army frontline detachments in Martakert and Martuni defense areas to the incident learn details and militaries’ life conditions.

The journalists visited NKR-Azerbaijan contact line in Martakert region (near Levonarch village) where firing at March 3-4, 2008 night occurred, NEWS.am reports.

Morale state of the soldiers is high — declared the Second in Command of Martakert defense area division Norayr Mkrtchyan.

A Battalion Commander of Martaket defense area Lt. Col. Artur Petrosyan recalled details of the night when Azerbaijani special deployment detachment attempted to take up one of NKR defensive positions. According to him, after the hours-long combat Azerbaijani troops retreated, loosing 10 and leaving Commander’s body on Karabakh area. NKR side reported only two injured. Lt. Col Petrosyan stated presently the positions are secured, as NKR Defense Army keeps the situation under the control. Though, the adversary fires Karabakh positions with sniper rifles, guns and machine guns each day, the NKR repulses accordingly. He underlined that security of military population is their key concern. In 2009, no losses or injured have been reported in Karabakh Army.
