“I am immensely flattered that you value highly Armenia’s role. I should say that Iran is a very crucial neighbor to Armenia – it is through Iran and Georgia that we maintain our communication with the world. Mutually beneficial relations between Iran and Armenia have been established,” RA President Serzh Sargsyan stated, when asked whether Armenia will be able to prevent the implementation of Iran’s nuclear program, at his meeting with journalists at the Royal Institute of International Affairs “Chatham House” in London.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, Feb. 9 at the opening ceremony of an exhibition of laser science and technology, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gave instructions to start uranium enrichment to 20% in Natanz nuclear site. The international community, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) issued a statement on new sanctions against Iran. U.S. President Barack Obama stated that the new sanctions will be the international community’s response to Iran's decision to continue its nuke program.
