According to him, Russia’s aspiration to position air defense systems in CIS is a pure PR. The expert outlined that added Georgia’s response to possible deployment will be definitely negative. “But Georgia will hardly succeed in preventing it,” Gegeshidze stated.

Russia might deploy last generation S-400 air defense systems in CIS states, RIA Novosti reports referring to Russian Air Forces commander Lieutenant General Vadim Volkovitskiy. He emphasized that S-400 might be used in the frames of unified system of collective security and CIS anti-air defense.
