Presently, no one is going to cede the territories to Azerbaijan – Deputy Chair of Armenian Republican Party (ARP) Galust Sahakyan told NEWS.am, July 24 emphasizing the word “presently”.

He considers Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) status primary for Armenian authorities, whereas other issues – secondary. Sahakyan stated the content of Madrid principles is not new, however, he welcomes decision of OSCE MG Co-chairs to discuss them openly. The progress in talks is evident and the discussed issues should not be confusing, as these are the emphasizes that are included in Madrid document", he added. According to him, to date the important statement is that Karabakh issue will be resolved in the frames of nation’s right for of its self-determination. Questioned that actually there not a single word of nation’s self-determination in Madrid document, Sahakyan declared: “The document says nothing about Azerbaijani territorial integrity as well.”

However, the ARP leader said the principles are vague are arise many questions. In response to the question: “What territories ARP is ready to cede for Karabakh status”, Sahakyan kept silent.
