YEREVAN.- Normalization of relations between Israel and Turkey is serving for the US plan on “the Greater Middle East”, turkologist Andranik Ispiryan said during a press conference on Saturday. 

Ispiryan believes two key events advantageous to Turkey will change situation in the region. The first is the message of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan who called for truce with Turkey. The second is telephone conversation between Israeli and Turkish PMs during Oama’s visit to the Middle East.

The expert noted that Turkey and Israel are key regional allies of the U.S. and strained relations between the states were not beneficial to Washington. He is confident that the normalization process was launched for effectiveness of the U.S. policy.

As to further developments in the Middle East, Ispiryan said the model of “Arab Spring” will not work in Iran as there were no prerequisites for “Arab Spring” in the Islamic Republic as it was in case of other states.
