The purpose of the visit is the development and expansion of relations between the states.

Meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and representatives of civil society are scheduled in the course of the visit.

As NEWS.am reported previously, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns arrives in Azerbaijan from Turkey. February 18, he met with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. According to Turkish media, Davutoglu informed Burns of his last visit to Iran asking U.S. to go on seeking a solution to Iran’s nuke program through diplomatic channels.
