There is a new air crash in Iran. The Aria Air Company Il-62 craft heading Tehran-Mashhad brakes failed to operate and it crashed attempting an emergency landing. The aircraft skidded off the runway and bumped the airport barrage, that caused a fire on board. 30 of 153 passengers died, 23 were injured.

According to certain sources, the aircraft was leased from one of Kazakhi air-companies and piloted by a Kazakh crew.

This is the second crash in Iran within last days. On July 15 2009 TU-154 heading Tehran-Yerevan crashed at 11:33 a.m. local time near Qazvin with 168 passengers aboard, including 15 crew members. All were reported dead. According to preliminary data there were over 30 Armenians aboard, of which 5 –citizens of Armenia.
