As a result of discussions with RA President Serzh Sargsyan, RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan issued a July 25 decree to establish Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee for erecting a memorial to Oct. 27, 1999 terrorist act victims, NA press service reports.

Ten years ago, seven terrorists broke in the Parliament and assassinated NA MPs and leaders. Legal proceedings were instituted on Feb. 15, 2001.

“Kentron” and “Nork-Marash” communities Courts of First Instance sentenced 6 terrorists to life term, and another defendant — to 14 years imprisonment under several RA Criminal Code articles, including for high treason and terrorism.
