“I am eager to work in Azerbaijan. As a professional diplomat I am highly interested in South Caucasus region. Under the standards, American diplomats cannot work in Washington over 6 years, while I serve here for already 13 years and have to leave US to hold a post in the regions with developing events,” he said.

Bryza pointed out that he has been holding his current position this long period as he was asked by the US President and Secretary of State.

“It is a great honor for me but I should perform my professional duties. The President is to decide where I will continue my diplomatic career. I think I will be aware of it shortly,” stated Bryza, Svoboda radio station reports.
