Spanish police arrested a man throwing a shoe at Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the course of his visit to Spain.

According to EFE agency, the intruder is a Syrian citizen of 27, Kurd by origin residing in Seville for a year.

The man will be interrogated for 72 hours for failed attempt at foreign leader. The accused is also charged with resisting arrest.

On February 22, the unknown threw his shoe at Erdogan after Nodo award ceremony in Spain. The man approached Turkish Premier and aimed his shoe at him shouting “Long live free Kurdistan!”
